Square and True
Ensuring that your foundation and the sil plate you set upon it are as square as possible is of utmost importance. If your foundation is out of square, your walls and trusses will follow that trend. This will not only couse trouble for the drywallers, but the cabinet, trim, and counter top trades. This is why a good contractor always begins the framing process with squaring the foundations and chalking their sill plate lines accordingly.

Going Vertical
Once you have a truly squared foundation and sill plate, you are all set to send lumber vertical. This is when 2D becomes 3D and you can begin to invision your daily life in your new home.
